Don’t know about Maytag dishwashers, but if their build quality and reliability are anything at all like their refrigerators, then STAY AWAY. Bought a brand new top of the line $4000 Maytag french door fridge in 2011, and have had total out of pocket repairs as of last week up to $1800. Fuck Maytag.

i live my life a load of dishes at a time. for that 2 hours and 30 minutes or less, i’m free.
My gf’s parents got an LG dishwasher last year, and its broken 4 or 5 times already. Apparently the internal drain pipe is too narrow or too sharply angled, so sometimes it confuses its own water level sensors because it’s not draining fast enough, or crap gets caught in the drain. That makes it stop and show “ERROR”…

no idea if samsung makes a dishwasher but avoid it. had their fridge, shit collects water in the crisper after 1.5 years, the washing machine everyone know about the recalls already... the tv is the only thing that still works after 2.5 years without an issue.
Stay AWAY from Bosch dishwashers. I had one and so too did a friend. Absolute pieces of shit. Maytags on the other hand, even the cheap models seem to be pretty good.
As long as the bars on the lower shelf are straight, and not angled, you’ll be happy (compare a GE to a Bosch, and you’ll see what I mean).
