Yes the driver is at fault for blindly following the map instead of the outside world. But, in the case of autonomous cars the maps need to be really accurate and there is no excuse for train tracks being missed in many cases these tracks have been in the same place for over a century.

This has gone so far past the point of this being interesting. give the guy his 5 mins of internet fame and lets move on
