Hmm... The Sterling was a joint venture mashup of Honda and Rover and that went spectacularly horrible, so I think Toyota/BMW might have a tough time matching that disaster.
I worked in a Toyota dealership when these were new. There was a company that sold light duty plastic plows that you put on them. I assume they were meant for clearing light snow from your driveway. The first time I saw one was in the shop from a distance. That was a WTF moment.

I understand that, and the marketing will be key. That said, I think it needs to be more like the old Scrambler than the Baja. Both of which failed. Less cab and more bed as in the image below would be way more appealing to me.
That’s not a pickup truck. It’s a Jeep doing a Subaru Baja impression. Remember how well the Baja did? Ditch the 4 door and give it a bed longer than 3 feet.
