LOLOLOLOL. I love that you fucksticks are just now coming around to this. The rights inability to grasp subtle lampooning is glorious. Fucking die in a fire.

I was legitimately waiting/hoping (ESPECIALLY considering some of these folks knew EXACTLY who/what he was) that - as soon as Homelander showed up - one of the older scientists just turned to the other folks in the room, sighed resignedly and said, “Okay, folks, this is the time we’d warned you about. This ice cream…
The one (unfortunate) thing I remember about Gen V was that one of the main cast members was tragically killed in a real-life motorcycle accident. The “Magneto” Kid. They also showed his face on the TV in that scene. I have no idea what they’re going to do with that. By the way, Chance Perdomo was the young man's name.
The more I watch this show, the less I like it. The extreme gore, violence, and nudity has gotten dull and the satire is smack you across the face obnoxious (I agree with what they’re lampooning and I’ve seen Kripke’s comments about people somehow confusing the themes of the show but it doesn’t make it fun to watch).…
That was JAG, not NCIS.
Ok love those nuggets of information, thank you!!
And in the “There Are No Coincidences” Department - “The Odessa File” is a novel by Frederick Forsyth centered on those very ratlines, and it was made into a movie starring, yes, Jon Voight.
Is it wrong that I liked Deep standing up to Ashley and telling her he’d drown her in the toilet (after he’s used it)...? He’s absolutely pathetic but I’d love to see him stand up for himself properly.
Nah. Fiction like The Boys makes far more sense and is far more intelligent than the bullshit coming from the right wing IRL these days. Like the fact we have a significant population stupid enough to support a convicted felon for public office.
The Boys was a comic book by Garth Ennis satirizing superhero tropes. It’s not simply a “funhouse mirror of Marvel and DC” and no, Garth Ennis is not a Trump supporter as obviously neither is Kripke. Ennis is Irish. I actually can’t think of a respected comics writer or showrunner who is. If you’re a Trump fan and…
I also believed that in real life, Homelander would have killed Hughie easily. Then I remembered it was a comic book TV show, and I suspended my disbelief. It’s a skill I learned watching the Bullwinkle “Upsidaisium” episode.
The satire is so heavy handed and lazy that it is counter productive. It convinces only the convinced. It’s in fact produces the opposite results for moderates. But whatever they can be stupid and inefficient if they want.
I actually think Firecracker’s story line is one of the most believable. That kind of shit will DAMAGE you at 13 and yeah, if her family was that poor, she probably wouldn’t have had many opportunities besides being a cu*t for god and white terrorism.
I don’t know how the stray observations gets a mention of Sage and Deep hooking up but makes no mention of the lobotomy. At first I thought it was a hatpin and she stabbed a doordash delivery person or something to take out aggression, then after rewinding a couple times I realized it was for a lobotomy.
Thanks for making me feel like a moron!
The comics were a bitter and entirely justified rage against George W Bush and post-9/11 America. This might not be the right tv show for you if hitting hard at Trump is off putting.
Anyone who uses the term “TDS” unironically is not a serious person. An idiot, if you will.
It might be a kind of boring reflection of reality but there literally are people trying to shoot up pizza parlors and goddamn actual Nazis out there who think others shouldn’t have rights because of their skin color. It might be lazy but it’s nothing like ‘TDS’.
It’s amazing to me when people who are paid to recap/review stuff miss the most basic shit. It’s a Maisel-themed Bat Mitzvah that’s happening *next* to the TruthCon, not AT it. Hotels often have different events at the same time. I was at a small comic con in a hotel once and there was a totally separate furry…
As crazy just for crazy’s sake most of the episode was, I did love Firecracker facetiming during the fight and as evidence that she infiltrated a Jewish cabal she points to the cardboard cutout of Tony Shalhoub.
