Thats one thing seems stupid that never really took off, for a while there they TV manufacturers were putting out TVs not necessarily with the encoder built in, but with the cablecard slots built right in.

Pretty sure it would be a kind of tricky negotiation to get the cable company to provide the content for free to people that refuse to be their customers....

Seems to me, the biggest difference is the content is viewing "on demand"....I guess like Hulu basically. And if people have Hulu already and area satisfied that they can see the shows / content they want from that, or some other service. Then sure, no point in them caring.

How do you get account login info unless you have an account? You mean for a customer that is just a comcast internet customer but not cable/tv?

Not sure I am following here...where are people being forced to pay for whether they want to or not?

I guess in one sense, yes, worthless to you if you do not have Comcast...seems pretty obvious.

Forgive my dumb-ness....what is the "Light UI"?

I understand your logic, don't really think that is how it is going to play out though.

Seem to remember that the vast majority of copies of Wii sports "sold" were also not bought by anyone. Nintendo gave it away, bundled with each console.

I agree with you, seems pretty obvious these days that a whole lot of the gaming "press" gets their stories straight from the fact sheet / PR department of each developer.

But, just curious, to the last point of what happens when you "do things" to help the settlements....is there an opportunity to "not" do those things, or do the opposite of those things to get the oppposite sort of reaction from the people?

Very true, I would be really reticent to think that the actual game developers would choose to try and pump up their game with over the top, spin / hyperbole. Especially if that hyperbole becomes glaringly apparent when playing the game that it is simply not true.

Would be awesome if it was not just a room, but there was an actual whole game to play within the game.

It does seem like typical corporate PR spin of reallly really stretttttchhhing the facts. Even by stretching it though, still seems like there are a heck of a lot more DS's out there than iPods (even if they include the phones).

I think Windows solitaire might have it beat...

Seeing as how you don't play multiplayer....nit sure why this would affect your decision at all either way. Used copies of the game will sell for the same prices either way

I kind of agree, but they really should not ave rolled this particular beta in this state this close to the launch of the game. In the end, everyone knows most people are goingbto think of it as a demo, not a beta.

They get their appreciation in the form of a paycheck.

I heard several of the responses were "OMG thank god I got your message, I was hoping to hear from you as we are sitting on a large inheritance of yourse here in Nigeria..."
