The first party games also have ludicrously long tails. Practically no other games sell as consistently and for as long, so there’s no real incentive to reduce the prices. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was the 8th best selling game in the UK last year, and the 6th best selling in Japan. That game’s essentially eight years old...

Much as I love Persona 5, I personally think Persona 4 is better. 5 is stylish as hell, and the gameplay mechanics are refined over the earlier games, but I preferred the story and characters in 4. I’m not sure if the re-release has happened yet on the current consoles, but if it hasn’t I think it’s pretty soon.

If I ever have to give a best man speech I’ve always been vaguely tempted to begin “Webster’s Dictionary defines a ‘cliche’ as...”

Do the cavemen have weapons?

Second all of this. 5 is stylish as Hell and has the best gameplay mechanics, but I just love the story and characters of 4. Personally I’d recommend playing all three in order, because they’re my favourite JRPG series, but if someone just wanted to do one, I’d definitely say 4.

Which, as we all know, is the only place to visit in the UK...

Pompeii is excellent, and well worth a visit, but yeah, maybe not if you’re staying in Rome. I’ll definitely second Ostia though. I couldn’t believe how cheap it was to get there, because as you say, it’s classed as part of the Metro, and it’s incredible. That’s one of my favourite things about Italy - you’ll turn a

Petitioning now for an updated title - Demon Slayer: Hookers and Blow arc.

I always liked “Suck the guts in guys, we’re the Ghostbusters”.

I’m sure I’ve seen that addressed somewhere by Aykroyd saying something like “ah, you’re thinking of the famous Tunguska event, Ray was talking about the much lesser known one”!

Ugh, that head floating out of the Hulkbuster armour... I always assumed that was 4.30 on a Friday.

I can’t see that anyone’s replied to you, so apologies if they have, but it’s a play on the phrase “brevity is the soul of wit”, ie - keep it short, and it will be wittier, but in this case, dreadier...er...cause more dread!

Faces always glued to their palantíri! Doesn’t anybody have an actual conversation any more?

Just wait until all the Gen-Z elves find this thread. Not even 800 yet and think they know everything.

And in the brief couple of seconds I saw (I’ll wait for it at decent quality) they hadn’t even turned the phone they were recording from into landscape, so it’s just a little postage stamp in the middle of a screen full of black...

I’m convinced that Disney announced her fee in that horrendous statement specifically to make people go “look at all the money she made! Why should I feel sorry about her not making more?!” and conveniently forget that breaking a contract is still breaking a contract.

Well when pearls are always spilling all over the place in slow motion in Gotham, you can bet people want to clutch them pretty tightly.

Exactly this. I get that people are desperate for representation and so often have to resort to head-canon and Tumblr discussions to create it where there isn’t any, but strong, vulnerable, platonic love between two male friends is something that is also sorely lacking representation it desperately needs. If any time

Once I’ve reached a reasonable point with something I’m editing - where the film is in a watchable state - I’ll often do an ‘eye’ pass and an ‘ear’ pass. I find they’re both great ways to see how the pacing is or isn’t working. Just listening to dialogue, if there’s anything that’s not got a natural rhythm to it it

Wait, I am British and a nerd. How am I supposed to square that circle?
