Excellent! That’s about the level I had. One of my best friends just said “Watch this show”, so I did. I saw something online about a “Bill Cypher” being involved but had no idea who or what that was.

If you’re only a few episodes in... let’s just say I envy you. I really hope you’ve gone in completely cold!
I was so annoyed when the Black Box was cancelled. I felt like I was being shafted out of more money by having to buy Half Life 2 and Episode 1 again, only to have further insult shoved in my face when Valve said “You can give away those games!” Great. Thanks for that Valve. How generous.
When I went to London Comicon a couple of years ago, Rising Star Games had a little stall, and whilst we were looking at all the Harvest Moon and King of Fighter games and merchandise the woman behind the stall asked us what our favourite Rising Star game was.
I’ve got a real soft spot for those blocky late 90's PC graphics! There were so many great games that came out in the period - Half Life, Thief, Deus Ex...and it being my formative early teenage years probably helped too!
Never attribute to conspiracy that which can be adequately explained by incompetence.
It’s a long time since I read HDM, and I was significantly younger when I did so that went over my head at the time, but that’s a really good point. I keep telling myself I need to read them again, especially now the sequel trilogy is starting, that’s something else for me to keep in mind when I do.
Yeah, he’s moving past the identity he was given and embracing his true identity. (Although there’s also the idea that he was given that identity too, by Morpheus. Something else I wish the sequels had explored more).
I only found out recently that the character Switch was supposed to be played by a male actor in the real world, and a female actor in the Matrix, which would have been a really interesting extension of the ‘residual self-image’ idea. It’s a shame it was never explored more.
I recommend Locke, Buried and Moon.
Given that the rest of the finale was remarkably bloodless it felt a bit like his death was a “it’s a finale, we’ve got to kill someone” move. Still satisfying to watch though.
I can’t believe this game is giving away the long-held secret that all rural Englanders can turn into cats.
I’ve never been able to understand the mentalities of guys who do this. I can’t imagine an unsolicited dick pic or immediate request for sex has ever worked, so do they actually expect that this time, this is it, this is the time it’s going to finally work! Or do they just think it’s the absolute minimum effort they…
The number of times they’ve said they’re never going to go third party suggests this is never going to happen. They’ve said that if they don’t make consoles, they won’t make games, because they like working to an architecture they control 100%. (Basic phone games don’t really count, they’re designed to interest people…
After you beat the final boss you have to go through a time-locked door, that only opens when the in-game clock reaches 600 hours.
A wedding I went to last year had the guests all suggest a song on their RSVP, which I thought was a nice idea. I had a think about something that might be good for a dance floor, and given that I’d only fairly recently discovered Stevie Wonders’ “Skeletons” I thought that would be a good pick.
I played Silent Hill for the first time about ten years ago (I’d always been a Nintendo guy, but finally picked up a PS2 slim due to lack of GameCube games) and whilst playing the bit in the hospital with the demon babies that latch on to your characters legs I suddenly got a text... my phone was in the side pocket of…
I’ve heard trucks use several different songs, I just meant that “do your ears hang low” is not the version of that song I’ve come across before!
“Ears”? That’s...not the version of that song I know...
My ex was really into Euro Truck simulator (like...over 100 hours, had a wheel and pedals into) so I gave it a go when it was in a Humble Bundle. I never played it much, but as a pallet cleanser or something to play when you just want to relax it was surprisingly great. As another commenter said - put on some music or…
