I’m curious - are you not tempted to wait a few months and see if MW is released as a standalone download? Since it was announced I figured it was being bundled with IW purely to maximize sales, then when the initial sales rush has died down they’ll just release MW as a standalone download and get another sales

Sadly, asking for facts and accuracy means that you’re not unquestioningly decrying him, which to some people is the same as an endorsement. The problem with that line of thinking is that it lets many people just dismiss anyone who has legitimate concerns about Hilary or unchecked/illegal immigration or manufacturing

I think it’s fair to question it. He’s making a valid point, but with what seems to be a particular Marvel bashing slant. Like you say - he’s comparing a group of franchises that have been around since 2008 with the most iconic film themes of all time. I wonder if your average person on the street would even be able

Yeah, that’s a good point too. The Marvel franchise is actually comprised of many other, linked franchises, so there’s not really that much need for an overarching theme for everything.

They’re certainly a long way from the worst offenders. I can’t remember anything memorable from any of the Transformers films I’ve seen, and Man of Steel has about 30 seconds that’s vaguely memorable, and the only track I can remember from BvS is the one it stole from the theme of a yet-to-be-released DC film.

I wasn’t even sure he was making fair comparisons in the original video. He was picking random background music from Marvel films, and comparing it with main themes from Star Wars or Harry Potter. I can happily hum the themes from Avengers, Iron Man, GotG, Ant-Man and the end theme from Iron Man 3.

Too difficult to animate.

I got followed by a load yesterday, all ones I never post in. On Kotaku, where I post most days - still grey!

What. The Hell. Is wrong with these people? I was hoping to be playing Zelda last Christmas day. Then I hoped it might be in time for my birthday, now it’ll be out just in time for my next birthday. I was briefly marginally upset, because there’s something that just feels right about playing a new Zelda on Christmas

First time I slept with one of my exes she hi-fived me. Actually quite liked that...

I’ve been holding out for a slim, I’m really hoping that’s going to get announced at the same time, because with XCOM, Dishonoured and Last Guardian before Christmas I’m not sure I can hold out much longer!

I genuinely have no idea how Platinum are still going. I adore them, and their games are (mostly) gold, but they never seem to be massive hits. Maybe they just manage to keep their budgets low (I don’t think they’re that big) so don’t need high sales to keep going. I’m glad they do though. Here’s to another ten years.

They might have been expecting a good film?

The whole thing just gets funnier the more you watch it - the first guy to get flung in the air, the two guys who just collide dead on and both collapse backwards, the one dude who nopes out of there, and like you say, the final guy who comes so close...

The sad fact is, the Wii actually had arguably the most diverse, and I would say the most interesting, library of that generation. The limited power and strange controls meant that ports weren’t really viable, but dev costs were lower so slightly unusual things could be tried.

That’s always been the case though. I don’t think anyone new is going to be buying the 6th game in a series (6th? 10th? I’ve lost count with all the spin offs!) but it’s always seemed like the people who love Yakuza love Yakuza, and it’s just enough to warrant bringing it out in the West.

I’ve heard that viewing angle can have an impact. I very occasionally get this with FPSs, but after I’ve been playing a while it generally fades away. There might be a setting in the mod to tinker with the viewing angle, so that could be a way around it.

I love how people laughed when it was first revealed and Miyamoto said “we gave it a handle so you could move it around the house or take it to your friends’”, but looking back, that’s exactly what a lot of people did! I loved the GameCube, great little console.

Checkov’s gun - if there’s a rifle hanging on the wall in act one, it must go off in act two or three.

I discovered Scott Lynch last year and was so glad I didn’t have to wait six years between books two and three, but now I’m having to wait for four with the rest of you! Oh well, at least I started The Wheel of Time after all the books were out...
