Well, they weren't exactly new plot lines, were they?

A lot of people did like it, though.

Honestly, I thought that if anything this one moved too fast!

I loved the constant coffee-drinking and talking about coffee. So Lifetime to use something kind of yesterday to make sure we know Sarah and Charlie are the HIP kind of organic farmer.

2 years later but: Vassili didn't totally buy what Nina said. He was careful around her. He shut her down when she tried to get info out of him about his contact. It wasn't he who told her the encryption was cracked; it was Gabriel barging into his office.

Ok listen, there is no equivalency between those two things at all. My original comment was meant to be self-deprecating and reflect how stupid I felt at times during this episode. I was making fun of myself and wondering if other non-book readers felt a bit lost as well. I honestly don't know what is so offensive

No. I called a character in a television drama an anime chick.

No argument about that.

I turned it off right there and never went back to it.

Many in the country didn't like it either. I remember my parents were totally horrified and they were Republicans.

Ugh, I feel like I'm watching White Nights again.

And the gulag is a Soviet thing. That would have been the woman's Soviet punishment for cheating on the Soviet system she worked for. There is no US equivalent to the gulag.

The coat she was wearing at the end was very anime. But really I was more referring to the heavy makeup, etc. To someone who hasn't read the books she seemed to come out of a different genre. It's cool — I was just saying it was out of left field.

A lot of people upthread are talking about someone named Murasaki. I was just lost as to what someone from Japan — so young, too — would be doing in Lithuania. Her connection to Hannibal wasn't established at all.

I meant she was dressed and made up like an anime character. Shall I go through and explain the rest of the hyperbole in my comment? Goodness, people are serious tonight!

The comments here so far all seem to be from people who have read Hannibal and Hannibal Rising. If, like me, you haven't did you, like me, have serious trouble wrapping your mind around Chiyo? I could hardly follow the plot of this episode just because I couldn't accept this … anime chick from out of nowhere in

They are obviously trying to get new viewers to stick around!

He was also on Carnivale. With the Kurgan/Mr Krabbs who I suddenly realize I need to see on Silicon Valley.

Someone who refers to "that new programmer" and "that financier" is not plugged in enough to the show to be able to lecture it about logic or continuity.

I think the accent is supposed to sound fake, for the reasons Saramis says.
