In my little corner of central Minnesota the regular unleaded is 87 octane with 10% ethanol, whereas mid-grade is 88 octane with 15% ethanol. The mid-grade 88 octane is usually somewhat cheaper than the 87. Go figure...

Fully agree with the 1985 Saab 900T, we owned an 84 and wished we had bought the 85.

My choice I know is an odd one but I’ve always like the 88-89 Buick Lesabre T-Type. Yes I know it wasn’t fast and FWD but just liked the proportions, sloping rear window and overall stance of the thing. Also liked the reverse opening

Am I the only one who noticed the late 70's Firebird/Trans Am inspired steering wheel? Pretty cool choice!

Ummmm, “ how important is a functional heater when everything else on the car is flawless?”

Living in Minnesota, a functional heater is pretty important...

...aging like a British man...  What like Keith Richards?

Agreed!  Best thing I’ve seen since the never ending Covid/Protest/BurnEverythingDown season started...

The pilot probably should have just decided to consider himself a peaceful protester and burn down an Autozone - the cops apparently don’t care when people do that.

It’s just a problem with marketing. They should have named it the “MAGA Tremendous Auto Extravaganza PROTEST” then everything would have been OK with y’all. Nothing to see here, move along.

You’re forgetting the one immutable rule, “Leftism ruins everything it touches every time it is tried”. Governments, schools & universities, industries, public health, agriculture, formerly beautiful Pacific Northwest cities, cool automotive related blogs... Everything. Always. 100% ruined.

I keep my old 2000 Suburban around for winter driving here in MN, 275K miles and still running strong. Only items changed out during the life of the 5.3 are a water pump and alternator. Trans and driveline are all original and untouched. 20 years of salty roads are slowly killing it with rust but mechanically it’s

Just spitballing here but I suspect this was a Frankenstein Monster project for some guys working at a scrapyard - never intended to be licensed for highway use but as a knockaround vehicle for the yard.

New grandpa here...  With a Buick....  Regal GS 6MT...

Two thumbs up on the Mazda B2600i. I had a 1991 2WD with extended cab and 5-speed MT. Fantastic little truck for almost anything, it was roomy inside with comfortable seats and simple controls. The 2600 inline 4 had good torque and got pretty decent mileage - 23 MPG. I literally could change oil on the thing in 5

...so hurry up and bring your juke box money!!

We have a 2012 T5 (5-cyl Turbo) that we purchase from a Volvo dealer as a Certified Preowned about four years ago.  Aside from a faulty hood latch sensor causing an erroneous ‘hood open’ message and a failed folding mirror motor replaced under warranty the car has been 100% reliable.  We have it serviced at the dealer

Just subscribe to Motortrend TV - seasons 2-25 of Top Gear for one low monthly fee!  I’m not a paid spokesperson...

It only runs a couple of minutes but the car chase scene with the Alfa is my favorite part of a bad Bond movie. The high speed oversteer slide of the Alfa into the Air Force base is perfectly executed and just plain cool. Whenever “Woman with Eight Cats” is on the BBC America marathon I try to catch that scene.

Whenever I consider a Nissan product for a potential purchase I recall three letters that automatically make me cross it off my list every time - CVT

I’m 6'3 and drive a 2012 Regal GS-6MT. Quick, loads of fun to drive, decent fuel mileage and reliable. If I put the seat all the way back I can’t push the clutch in all the way. In all my life this is the first car I’ve owned that has good headroom and the drivers seat wasn’t perpetually pinned to the backstop.

COTD!
