Your hypothetical falls apart in the real world. The specifications change as the planes begin being built, so in essence the manufacturer set a price point for a given set of capabilities and by the time they’re actually building planes, those capabilities have changed and those changes have resulted in a price

Well at least it has 3/4 of a tank. So you’ve got 150 miles of range to figure out how to fill it up.

Love the Long Beach photos! That round apartment building and the copper roof one are cool.

Sounds like an easy fix. I would make him an offer but I don’t think my wife would appreciate a third ‘easy fix’ car in our driveway.

I don't think the speed of the car has much to do with it. Growing up my family had nothing as fast as a GTI and I found the top speed in every car. It took a long time to get to the top speed in the PT Cruiser, but I got there multiple times.

Thanks for the tip. Book is purchased. I have a daughter on the way and I’d already been thinking I’d love to see her grow up to be like Jessi.

Having driven both, neither is a poor choice. If you’re set on one of the two, the choice between them needs to be an emotional one.

You can still fit mud tires on a G-class. If I drove there on the road I’d take the G-Class if it were somebody else’s money.

Just for kicks, I just checked the inventories of the closest Jeep and Lexus dealers. All the Wrangler Rubicons are $51-57k, and the Lexus GX’s are $57-58k. If I would do any street driving with it, I’d take the GX over the Wrangler all day with that negligible price difference. The Lexus also depreciates quicker so

I feel like the C-HR and HR-V are just more boring copies of the Juke, and they seem to sell well. How is there a market for them and not the Juke?

I dunno. I drive by a horse farm on my way to work and whenever there’s a horse show, there’s about 30 of these, some with dual rear wheels, parked up with horse trailers behind them. Those are definitely people that want the luxury, but can’t tow their 6 horses with a Bentayga.

Man, I haven't heard that song in years.

Haha, was driving my S10 when I met my wife. Just before we got married I bought a Prius for her and ended up driving it myself once I got a longer commute. She tried to go for the truck guy and ended up with the Prius guy.

I just looked through a list of all of his movies. I’ve seen most of them and the only one I liked is Death Proof. So yeah, I didn’t know it before but I absolutely agree with you. Guess I won’t be watching this movie.

Nooo! Pretty much the only VW products I like. Oh well, I guess I'll just go back to not liking VW.

My old neighbor had a Buick Regal go up in flames in front if the house hours after it was last driven. Luckily it just melted the siding, but did catch a nearby tree on fire.

If I set up a dinner with four couples, you best believe I’m not paying for all of them.

Per the linked articles, GM has 48,000 union workers in the US. So if they cut out all the execs at the top, that would probably free up about $48,000 an hour. Then all of their union employees would get an extra $1 an hour, and the company would probably go under within weeks with no upper management.

I recently ran the numbers with a friend who felt he should be keeping up with mutual acquaintances. Though he’s on the low end of the income range, he’s not far below others we know, and we decided the best course of action for now was to keep his 10-year-old car. Most people I know buy the car they want, then figure

In the past week I’ve had two annoying interactions with bicyclists. One time I had two teenagers blow through a stop sign onto a road with a 35 mph speed limit. They had no visibility to see if there were cars coming and they popped out onto the road and turned into my lane about 50 feet ahead of me. I had to slam on
