Kinja sort of works like that. I think if we keep replying it will make the original comment more popular. Stars help too!
I don’t understand the argument for having ‘normal’ shifters. BMW and Mercedes haven’t had a conventional shifter in a few years. Most FCA vehicles have a random assortment of odd shifters that are difficult for me to understand sometimes despite driving used cars every day. There are a lot of other unique shifters…
Unless the engine is still warming up, it will shut off when stopped. The electric motors will still apply some power so that the car will ‘creep’ like most automatic transmissions we’re accustomed to.
Cars have had push-button shifters since the mid-50's. In terms of dissimilarity the Prius is pretty mild compared to a few other models out there now.
I have the same model she has and it didn’t seem unusual to me at all. The FCA vehicles that have a rotary knob to shift and the BMW ones that have a small stalk are the only ones I have trouble with. There are a number of cars that have and have had push-button shifting, and that seems like a more complicated system…
There are two cars in my family that are the same model Prius that she had. It definitely had a Park button, she just didn’t know it was there. She had gotten out of the car to ask a question and left it running since she was getting right back in. She just didn’t bother to secure the car from rolling away by any…
I’ve seen plenty of people get out of Priuses with them still on and have them roll away. One even told me that there was no way for her to put it in park without shutting off the car. Maybe dealers should be doing a better job of explaining to people how these cars work, instead of relying on a foot brake that I…
To be fair, dashcam owner had no good reason to let the bus in, and the BMW driver did not fling off his sunglasses, just merely took them off with a frustrated motion. BMW driver is still an idiot though.
Except that if you read the article linked, they also say that the house was owned by a relative of hers.
Yeah, my truck wasn’t faster. I had some mods, they were stock and they were also bad drivers.
Back in high school I had an S10 with the 4.3. I used to race the guys with tired old Foxbody Mustangs and would usually come close to them. One guy raced me a few times on a road that had ‘speed humps’ and I would drive over them at speed, so that was always easy.
I was confused about where you were going with most of your post, but once you got to the end I agree wholeheartedly!
Well the M235i is faster, and the auto in the Camaro gets confused often. Is 8 speeds possibly too much? I’d definitely go for the stick if I were buying one anyway. And you’re right, the V6 is lacking in the torque department, but pulls hard at higher RPM. The visibility didn’t bother me once I got used to the tiny…
I had a V6 Camaro as a rental car a few months ago, and when I picked it up I was thinking of those lame V6 Camaros from the 90's. The new ones are not lame though, that 335 hp is no joke. I’m not saying more isn’t fun, but 335 is definitely more than adequate for anything I’ll be doing.
I love how the dump truck pulls in front of the BMW at the end. I’m surprised he didn’t get out and give that guy a piece of his mind too.
No, I’m much too refined for that. Give me a Mercedes Metris, or a Sprinter, even a Promaster. My wife still does not agree.
Sounds like you found a good one! My wife is the greatest. First thing I took care of was to buy her a nicer and more practical car than what she had, and she’s given me free rein to do whatever I want with cars. That freedom doesn’t extend to everything, but she’s just as supportive if not more than I am.
My wife is the same. And every time she brings up that we need to get an SUV once we have a kid, I bring up that a full size van would really be much better. Then she backs off and says that her Prius will be fine for up to two kids. I still want a full size van.
When conspiring with a friend of mine to sell my 15-year-old S10 with 160k on the clock, I was shocked to hear him suggest he wanted to buy it. I repeated to him the fact that I mercilessly flogged that thing almost its entire life, and it was starting to have problems due to its age and punishing life. He didn’t…
