@Arken: Again, you are making an argument based on "nothing improbable happens"; that it is extremely improbable that such a weird expedition could have avoided bringing a biological disaster. I agree. If that was what happened, it's certainly weird.

@bookwench: Eh, they might do the whole transhumanist thing right. That would certainly be interesting.

@crosis101: Never actually read Harlan's script, myself, but I find his nearly indiscriminate misanthropy grating and his writing insufferable. So I gochyer back.

Sigh. I really wish people would stop saying "Hoax! It's gotta be!". (I'd say the same about instant believers but didn't see any here.)

@crosis101: No Saves, arbitrary kills, mandatory hits, and minor enemies draining a quarter of your life bar.

@J.D. Papillon: Snerk. Hell, we all have characters want to die. I'm just glad that talbot-as-vase has finally stopped complaining.

I remember being fascinated by this subject since I was wee one after reading a Zelazny book, Doorways in the Sand. In the story virtually all life in the universe is right-handed and our protagonist has to go through a really weird piece of tech to reverse the chirality of his body, to allow for better communication.

@Jennifer Cornelius: I think you'll find that we pretty much agree. Yeah, htey must've really loved each other to stay together that long. There must've been _something_ that kept them together.

@J.D. Papillon:Oh fer... I'm not objecting that he's a "queen" (I said "drama queen" a term with substantially different semiotics), but rather 1) he's obnoxious and 2) he's a caricature — ie lazy writing. I am NOT sad to see him go.

I got about halfway through when I realized you'd flipped the words for pro and con on about 85% of your items.

@Stunspot: Sigh. Y'know, I've been working my way through "Supernatural" and just realized that "McG" is an excutive producer.

McG? "McG"?! Jaysus Kee-RISTE! Y'know, I'd never heard of this guy before, but hearing his "name" instantly made me hate him. Then I learned he was responsible for Charlie's Angels 2: The Secret of Bosley's Gold (or whatever the crap it was called) and realized my instincts were dead on.

@corpore-metal: Not that he's smart enough himself but it could have had some robot friends who were. Maybe the Robot Mafia?!

@driso: No, the sadness is the overall lack of diversity in casting. NOT in this specific possible case.

@jedifreac001: "Yeah, tell that to Hollywood and American society. They defined us a s a specially defined group who deserved unequal consideration, first."

"but Henry's subplot is an interesting test of whether true love exists. If one version of Henry fell in love with her and married her, shouldn't that be good enough for our version of Henry?"

@driso: "but they should just shut up and deal with it,"

@jedifreac001: I did not use the word "incapable" nor did I imply it. I am saying that when "their culture" means "race" more than, say, "American" or "Canadian" or whatever, you inspire ignoramuses in all camps. If a white guy thinks of himself as "white" first and "american" second, that's a problem. Insert
