You didn't cause any rift….I was actually agreeing with you for the most part. Olyphant and Goggins do great accents—perfect for the show that they are on.
Neither Olyphant or Goggins accents are anything close to a Southern Louisiana accent. They do excellent Kentucky/South Carolina-style accents, but it is far too soft and melodic to be from the Gulf Region.
You guys, seriously, you'll want to give Helix another chance. Not only is it not as bad as season one, it is actually getting sort of good. And the plot elements are actually making sense. I actually find myself looking forward to watching it.
No way that will happen. Rebecca is too inexperienced, too overconfident, too impulsive and too emotional to ever take control of a criminal enterprise as fraught as Proctor's.
I have rarely heard an actor able to do a believable Southern accent (Gulf Coast accents especially—they are not all the same).
I'm hoping that they show Conner being an absolutely shitty coward, and he breaks up with Oliver because he can't deal. That way, they can go back to Conner being cutthroat-conniving-gay, instead of noble-honorable-white knight-gay…which has been done to death and is always boring.
"Overly polite" is the overly polite way of saying "smarmy" and "dubiously sincere."
He's the whitest hat on a show with plenty of gray.
That's why he'd be the perfect guy.
I was anticipating some tear-jerky "Of Mice and Men" scenario…glad the writers decided not to go that route.
If they do, then the balance is way off, in my opinion. They did the same thing on the Breaking Bad Insider Podcast, to the point that I gave up listening. I was hoping they might have gotten past it for this one.
EXACTLY!!!! Can you forward this comment to the podcast producers?
I don't doubt for a second that he's a nice guy, and he probably feels genuine about it. But I also believe that it is so common in the entertainment industry that people don't even notice when they are doing it…it becomes reflexive, to the point that it doesn't really mean anything anymore…sort of like how normal…
Eh, I work in a creative field in Los Angeles, so I suppose my attitude and expectations could be skewed. Plus, I know a lot of people who have done actual porn in their past, and it hasn't hindered them in the least (which is probably why I see Henry's productions as low-stakes), but I guess it's different in the…
Seriously? You don't find it to be somewhat…masturbatory on the part of the participants? They spend the whole time congratulating one another and doing that Hollywood name-dropping "what a great job so-and-so is doing" bullshit and talking about locations and equipment used for shooting certain scenes, rather than…
If he's not careful, he'll end up at a Cinnabon in Belize.
But they're not doing anything in the videos…they are clearly just gaybaiting. Not only is it not "actual hardcore porn," it's not even softcore porn. They are not being sexual, they're being flirty and provocative. I don't see how anything they've done is worthy of being "furious" about. They haven't crossed the line…
I thought it was awesome that the only character who appreciated Patrick's costume was Brady.
So maybe you can explain to me why everyone is tsk-tsking Henry so much about his YouTube venture? It's not like he's producing porn, and he is far from forcing anyone to participate…
Let me preface by saying that Cicely Tyson is an American Institution, a role model, blahblahblah, etc….
