I didn't mean to imply I think Red October is necessarily his best movie, although I did rewatch it on a whim just last night and found it to be a marvelously well-crafted thriller. Besides, everybody knows McTiernan's best movie is Last Action Hero.

I did too! But Harlin's one of those once-great action directors who seems to have been replaced by a soulless clone of himself. Like how John McTiernan made both The Hunt for Red October and Rollerfuckingball.
