It’s pretty offensive that no FPI staff were indicted on any charges, either for putting servicemembers at risk, or the mistreatment of prisoners.

Variable compression ratio???

This exactly. I don’t see what the real advantage of changing the static CR is over changing the effective/dynamic CR. It would seem to me that a camless/solenoid driven valve system (perhaps similar to what Fiat uses on the exhaust side of the Abarth) could and would lower the compression ratio enough simply by

I think packaging all that in a “V” shaped engine is the limiting factor more than cost. An inline configuration seems much more conducive to housing all that hardware.

The engineer in me is WOW

Replace Diesel engines?

The first few I saw, I thought thy we're hilarious and refreshing. After that, it was just a bunch of low effort jokes about penises.

I do this at every stoplight. Wheeeeeee!

Doubtful that the “not resting your hand” thing is applicable to most manual vehicles this day and age. Most are cable shifted and don’t have a direct mechanical linkage from the gear lever (front wheel drive cars). So the negligible pressure resting your hand on the gear lever doesn't really transfer to the shifting
