agreed. I am biased as he was one of my favorites growing up. ITs reflected by the 74.8% vote that he isn't a lock and next year will be tough for him. maybe the year after he will get in. Granted the BBWAA doesn't say only one person per year after this debacle.

1st ballot isn't really important. However, I am a biggio fan and he was a great utility player catcher, CF, 2nd base. I would say he has ample creds to get in, but as always its subjective.
