Not sure anyone is suggesting we pity him, but the assumption that he's just chilling out, awaiting the results of a grand jury investigation is a bit bizarre.
I recommend spreading them out over a day for maximum appreciation: http://jezebel.com/10-of-the-spoo…
Same! I was just re-reading last year's the other day. Loads better than any other compilation online. That truck story never fails to give me chills.
Unrelated to everything except the reference to Samhain in the first story, but are you guys doing the scary story contest again this year? Please?
We asked it because the person who just vacated the role had issues with women, and it had a strong negative effect on her work.
And if someone's misogyny prevents them from being a good employee, as it did for the person who left this role?
It is legal, fortunately. Things you cannot ask about: nationality, religion, age, marital status, gender (what their gender is), residence, criminal record, or military service. The diplomatic, neutral answer is absolutely what we were looking for - this was a first-line effort to screen out the really dedicated and…
That is actually the response we were looking for! And would have been happy to explain our thinking. Can't have a misogynist in a small company with many female employees. The question itself is neither absurd, clumsy, foolish (we caught what we were screening for) nor disrespectful, though you sound like a treat to…
To screen for people like this applicant - who would constantly judge the person they were tasked with assisting. The person who vacated the role had this same problem.
Interesting possibility! Pretty noteworthy that she was a proud, self-proclaimed "work wife" too.
Interviewed a (female) candidate for an assistant position (to a female manager, clearly spelled out in the job description). I am female. Female manager is in the interview. Asked applicant which managers she preferred from her work experience, male or female. Looked us both in the eye and said she preferred men,…
I'm not easily shocked, but the descriptions of what the pledges have to go through made my jaw drop. Such cruelty, and so creative it gives me chills. It makes me reconsider an earlier stance I had on millenials showing increasing empathy as a generation.

Young people get a lot of grief for many things (some deserved, most not I think), but it seems pretty obvious that humans are growing more empathetic on the whole each generation at a time. Human nature obviously still hasn't changed - we're still animals, and we will still commit terrible atrocities against our…
I posted this question in a recent article about lack of support from the NFL for cheerleaders - other than not buying tickets or gear and not watching games, is there anything else we can do to put our money where our mouths are? Already do the former, and the latter is do-able but feels passive. Any thoughts?
I feel like this is a safe space to pose this idea, because I have asked my husband before and he laughed me off: if they made a pill for reverse-boners (ie, to smother one that wasn't wanted in a professional situation, etc), would there be a market for that? Is this an issue for lots of guys?
I guess this would be a good time to share that my (kinja)name is Strozzapretti and I have a weakness for crushed velvet.
