Spoiler: It didn’t.

Ah the old I’m rubber your glue defense. It’s never worked before but hey let’s see how it goes this time.

Yes.

A better question is why do content warnings upset you people so much? If it doesn’t affect you then you can ignore it. Is it causing you some sort of distress? Are you triggered by content warnings? Do you need content warning warnings?

Oh yeah, there’s sequences that hit me like 10 of those ASPCA ads.

We’ve been at that point for decades, that’s why films are rated?

We probably have very different definitions of Beautiful

Sounds more like you’ve just grown out of the series more than anything. RE7 WAS the God of War style reboot. If that didn’t get your interest, then nothing else will.

Nothing will ever top “The Playstation 5 is a bad console because COVID is happening.”

I mean, you play as a cop that goes into a building without announcing themselves, and immediately pulls a gun on the first person they see, and begins shooting. This rendered in police-cam footage often associated with police murdering people without due cause.

I think a lot of peoples stomach churns whenever video game violence starts looking too realistic. Last of us was controversial for how it portrayed in game violence against humans.

my favorite top worst take was when one of the articles said about Immortals Fenyx rising and i quote “It’s Zelda without being pious—a criticism I see levelled at Nintendo’s series far too infrequently.

This is maybe one of the top five worst takes ever posted on Kotaku.

Jesus. Do you really want Ashley to constantly blabber to you, just so you can “learn who she really is”? Holy fuck, this is a hardcore survival action horror game, who gives a fuck about Ashley’s personality??? Imagine they had added tons of scenes of interactions with Ashley, that you would have to go through again

Every character in this game is about as deep as a thimble. The narrative is simply a driver for the game to go to different environments and situations. There is nothing in the game beyond “We must win.” That being said, because this is a video game, there are many other elements that can delight the player besides

For what it’s worth, I thinks Ashley also shoots a few dudes in a later cutscene? But yeah, it’s small victories at best.

she even expresses interest in becoming a government agent! That’s vastly more personality than OG Ashley ever had.

I don’t see the problem with her in this remake.  She starts out very much afraid and unconfident, as she should be since she’s an untrained young woman going through a severely traumatic experience.  And then through the small actions she takes she’s able to gain back some of that confidence and sees Leon as someone
