The difficulty with batteries is there are limits to the ability to store electrons by chemical reactions in the same volume as the chemicals that will receive them. Combustion is ideal for this as the fuel can be in a sealed tank and the oxidizer is separate and ubiquitous. Even if they can reach the energy density

Technology still needs to advance more before these are practical. Hence why they’re still the future, and not the present.

This website keeps trying to tout this technology as “the future”. Look if all we have to look forward to is an average speed of 37 mph due to having to stop and charge for an hour every 75 mile - or worse be stuck with a maximum radius of 40 miles, then the hobby will die.

Except in this comparison the car has 4x the horsepower to the bike. 110hp vs 450hp

Wow. Why does this upset you so?

That restaurant is gloriously tacky! I want to go to there!.

Exactly.  When I wait in line at Costco, I’m maybe in line for 10 minutes maximum.  And then I can fill up the car in less than a minute.

Yes in the grand scheme of things it is. Plus with our housing problems here, rent isn’t really a good indicator of low income. $1500/month for a place is cheap for LA county.

I’m so sick of the “my time is worth X” argument always thrown out. That would make sense if people were paid hourly for every second of every hour worked in a perfectly flexible manner but that’s literally not possible so it’s a stupid argument.

Well the tax credit is down for Tesla at the end of of the year. As far as no gas tax, that is just another in the long line of reasons to change to an ezpass type usage toll. Especially for heavy vehicles like 18 wheelers that do a huge amount of water and tare on roads

GUUUUUUH I’m so tired of answering this question. The sources are not hard to find if you look.

LOL, okay, cam down.

St. George Terroir is a favorite of mine.

Unlike vodka, different gins taste SERIOUSLY different. Gin can be so highly flavoured that some bartenders consider certain gin brands “gin liqueurs” rather than true gins, because they’ve just got that much flavour. Even a piker should be able to tell a Hendrick’s from, say, a Beefeater, even in a G&T.

Nail. Head. Exactly so. Thanks for sayin’ it.

I see all things.

The numbers I’m looking at say the BMW is 60 lbs heavier, and I can tell you from riding them that they feel 100 pounds different.

I fucking love that bike. Just not for dirt.

I love riding off road, I’m just not excited to do it on anything bigger than the Africa Twin. Read the whole article, and then we’ll talk.

Spent a week on a KTM 1190 in the Rockies, and I never got used to the bike. I was actually relieved when the week was over and I didn’t completely destroy an expensive bike which didn’t belong to me. That said, I did have loads of fun, but I have to say I am with you. I simply don’t understand why the bike had to be
