Well, I see where Holt was coming from on that. Trump has already baldly stated that if he loses, it's because the election is rigged (ensuring his supporters will be furious at HRC's "cheating" even though the win would be honest) and several of his mouthpieces have made inferences about "fighting" the result if

I worked for someone very much like Donald Trump, if Trump had been born poor and with delusions of being an artist rather than being born a millionaire with delusions of being good at business. It was INCREDIBLY resonant to watch HRC smile politely while listening to a complete moron talk over her about things she

It is now my dream and my life goal to hear a full congregation sing "When the Man Comes Around".

I love Hotel California and all things Eagles, but in my defense, I blame my dad for it being one of the few things we could bond over pop-culture wise, so there's kind of a weird childhood-nostalgia thing when it comes to liking them so much.

It's an incredible premise for a film, with a really well-acted and well-filmed crash scene. You could tell it was going to be schmaltzy from teh start, sure - but a movie not being great never stopped it from being enjoyable.

That interview IS terrible, though - Couric didn't do her homework for whatever reason and comes across as incredibly shallow and uninterested. I was really disappointed in her, as generally she IS on-the-mark and researches her work really well. I'm not sure what happened there.

I think you mean Skiles went a little overboard. Have you SEEN the first photos of Sully and Skiles after the crash? His moustache was a thing of beauty.

Flight was an incredibly promising movie that got a little bit out of hand after the middle and became just overwhelmingly schmaltzy. The crash itself was amazingly well-done, though, and I did like the premise of "the reluctant hero who's really just a terrible person who did one exceptionally heroic thing".

It's very real. Just about every teenager whose parents figured out they were having sex in high school has had some variation on this uncomfortable, panic-riddled conversation - albeit without the "missing best friend" element. And every teenager ever has had the "parent misses the point and gets mad about something

A lot of us tabletop/D&D/GURPS people have basically decided they're the kind of kids who basically write their own D&D rules/map to fit whatever they wanted to do. Which is totally what I do, so…

It doesn't restart a stopped heart, but yes, it CAN have a similar visual response (the person suddenly clearly breathing again - I agree it can't restart a stopped heart or speed it up or anything, just the "sudden intake of breath" visual). It's very, very rare - my dad was a volunteer firefighter/EMT for twenty

Don't most teenage plans turn out to be completely worthless? ;)

Alcoholic with a "lost romance" due to said alcoholism, little soft around the middle, but with a heart of gold and courage for days?

The thing with leaving Hopper alive had more to do with his position as town sheriff - if he suddenly turns up dead/missing, it'll be harder to assuage public concern than if some rando running a diner in the middle of nowhere commits suicide. I think they also didn't really get that Benny was "beloved local figure"

Yeah, her reaction is one of protectiveness over her new friends, the first people to actually just sort of think she's super cool without wanting to USE her immediately. I think she just really liked having met kids her own age, really liked those kids, and really DIDN'T want them to fall victim to the same fate as

The flashbacks to Hop's daughter… that was very much naked emotional manipulation, it nearly ruined the scene for me, and it's the one thing about this show I absolutely hate. Even just one quick flashback (during the CPR scene) would have made sense but the show… it's one of the few times it really hits us in the

The idea that the monster comes from a dimension/variation of the world wherein IT is the weakest/near weakest creature, so it has to hunt by opportunity, is a really interesting one.

Which leads to a whole different set of questions about who/what was living in the Upside Down before and what THEY were like.

I'd say that would be my biggest question with the creature. We have a creature whose hunting tactics are clearly modeled on those of a shark - but that would suggest a creature with a TON of physical weaknesses, where this doesn't really show much of any. Why DOES it stick to the young, weak, and sickly? It clearly

That's a fair point.
