In-story, Nakia was the River Tribe champion and could have challenged T’Challa for the throne.
In-story, Nakia was the River Tribe champion and could have challenged T’Challa for the throne.
Both in universe and out....it should be Nakia.
I personally don’t care about the controversies surrounding Wright but Shuri should not be the next Black Panther. Simply put in the MCU she neither trained to be a warrior or the head of state for Wakanda. Nakia is in the best position to succeed T’Challa narratively and from a character background point of view. She…
I love Billy, I am excited to see this movie, but honestly I just never go to the movies anymore. I genuinely can’t recall the last movie I saw in the theater. Maybe The Batman? It’s just not a thing I do anymore, and I don’t think I’m alone since the pandemic.
There’s a demographic somewhere between active homophobe and not particularly interested in romantic comedy (regardless of the gender identity and / or sexual orientation of the characters who will be having sex with eachother by the end of the film).
Go read Jenna’s other reviews for the show. There’s errors and oversights that are so large they make it impossible to engage with the content. You can’t even have a good chat about it in the comments because the actual substance of the observations are off. It’s not bloviating nerd pedantry, it’s a meaningful problem…
I’d settle for a reviewer who likes the show enough to actually bother paying attention while watching it.
He specifically says, “if that’s the case I’d personally prefer if you posted reviews a few hours later so you can have time to actually rewatch the episode and edit a bit.” And I agree, not being first to publish is better than getting lots of details wrong. Like not noticing that Helaena’s “gibberish” is actually pro…
First of all, this review is much better written than its sister review on A/V Club. Thank you for that.
- One week, we get “they never tell us these characters’ motivations”. The next week, it’s “they spent too much time telling us the characters’ motivations.”
The writer should also know that Aemond is Viserys son and not grandson. But, here we are...
I’ve been holding back on criticizing these reviews but I’m starting to get genuinely annoyed at the sloppiness. So many mistakes like...
That’s why Daemon murdered that random guy -- that was the body they burned instead of Laenor’s.
I mean, Jenna also describes Qarl and Laenor as faking his death on their own, when it was clear that all four parties were in on it since we see Daemon killing the guy they used as the burnt body and Rhaenyra explicitly says that everyone will think they were behind the murder and she’s okay with people fearing what…
They were in on the plan. Daemon killed the guy to be a stand-in for Laenor.
“This is a canny political move—and very bad news for Laenor. With the princess’ reluctant blessing, Daemon pays Ser Qarl a hefty sum to publicly murder his lover....The two manage to fake Laenor’s death. ”
Last week, Laena Velaryon committed suicide by dragon-fire after a difficult labor. Her reasons for doing this are up to viewer interpretation, because the show gives us very little to go on.
Rhea Seehorn only got one nom and zero wins for Kim Wexler. That have no idea what’s going on.
Diego Luna IS Paul McCartney AS Cassian Andor IN Star Wars: Andor
It’s kind of insane to me that we have a show with a cast this good, with writing this good, that looks this good (not that the previous shows haven’t looked good, but real ass locations and physical sets are going to beat The Volume any day, regardless of how cool the tech is), that is so deliberately paced, and so un…
