the show has gotten way more queer and with that they are definitely leaning into the kink and raunch way more, I love it.

Jim Jarmusch made Only Lovers Left Alive, starring Tilda Swinton as a vampire. And Tilda is a vampire in the show. Does that mean it was a biographical film and Tilda just hypnotized Jim Jarmusch into forgetting about the existence of vampires?
Oh same. I graduated high school in 04 so him making those two choices just fucking killed me. It was just so perfect. I think enough of the fanbase is millenials so that reference should land and it just tells you exactly what kind of teenager Colin is. I hope there are more jokes like that about him being a teenager…
Blood drunk Nadja was hilarious and I don’t think I’ve ever seen her wear pants before.
Laszlo’s “I could go on” that you highlighted above is yet another hilarious read by Matthew Berry. It’s amazing how he can just hit a certain word funny and destroy you.
TROS isn’t perfect but it felt like a real movie
Of the new trilogy it was my favorite. It promised a new take and I appreciated that. TFA was supposed to reel you back in with nostalgia, TLJ offered something new. TROS was just unfortunate.
Honestly this problem could have been solved so simply by suggesting there be a spy or mole somewhere in the Resistance but no such thing is ever hinted at or said.
I’m sorry but Broom Boy was a moron.
As a big fan of Johnson’s films before the new trilogy, I was incredibly excited. The movie itself has a lot of problems. A “space race” where a pursuing fleet can jump to light speed at any time is just dumb sci-fi, and the casino planet felt like wasted time.
But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Last Jedi…
It made Star Wars feel fresh. It shook up the status quo, especially after TFA was a pure retread, and anything could happen going into Episode 9. Nothing was sacred anymore. Was TLJ perfect? No, but I was actually excited about Star Wars for once, and that’s what the franchise desperately needed.
Also, I wanted to hug Rian for pivoting Rey towards “you’re not related to anyone famous, actually” cause I’m extremely tired of that in Star Wars, and wanted to slap JJ for “lol you’re a Palpatine”
Still the best of the recent trilogy.
Destroy all the sacred cows of star wars- the handsome rogue? Treacherous. The guy who doesn’t follow orders? almost gets everyone killed. The Jedi? A nobody. And the final, final scene- the little kid in the stable who subtly force-pulls his broom to him? PERFECT.
I walked out of The Last Jedi enjoying the idea that the force is in all of us. What a great message for children (the real audience for these movies.)
When I first saw the movie I HATED it. But then I thought, hey this is doing what many of us (not all) have clamored for—something different. So, I went to go see it again.
It is bold and it is beautifully shot. For me, remove Canto Bight and it’s a close to perfect film. My opinion changed and I didn’t even have to…
On Holdo: My headcanon was that the Rebels have a typical top-down chain of command that you’ll find in many militaries*: The plans were shared, just not to hotshot fighter jocks. And why should they, especially if they mutinied?
As he should.
I love TLJ. It felt like an adventure movie with Finn and Rose searching for the coder while the rebel fleet tried to stay ahead of the Imperial fleet. Rey and Kylo fighting the imperial guards and killing Snoke was one of the best lightsaber fights in the franchise. And the silent scene when Admiral Holdo launched…
The core of the movie is sound. The relationship between Rey and Renn is great, and setting the story in a slow motion chase is a great idea that nobody had done in Star Wars thus far. There are smaller problems (the bombing run in space is kind of dumb, and a few other things), but the bigger problems are that the…
The hate piled on this movie is neverending and, as a direct consequence, we got the worst Star Wars film ever as a response...and maybe one of the worst movies ever made. They fly now? They fly now!
