Jon Favreau gets geek stuff better than any other filmmaker. It seems almost impossible to believe now, but if he doesn’t nail Iron Man, there might not even be an MCU. Creating the first ever and extremely successful live action Star Wars television series is just an encore for him at this point.

Amusingly, his best season of AHS was Asylum. Undeniably over the top (Nazi doctors! Aliens! Beasts in the woods!), but it always felt grounded in the characters.

Does Murphy know how to make anything that isn’t over the top camp, at least in the end? The Normal Heart may be the only exception, is there anything else? His TV series end up being more exhausting than entertaining.
