When the sclooting starts the schooting starts.
You do understand there’s a difference between protesting best health practices for the sake of doing so in a purely petulant, selfish fashion; and being well past pissed off and standing up for actual civil rights and social justice, right?
I hate to be pedantic, but they stopped being scooters when they decided to participate in the breaking down of storefront windows. Now they’re sclooters and I just can’t get on board with that.
Agreed. I backpacked through Europe last year and they were a godsend in many places. Scooters allow you to hit many more sites in a day than public transit and they’re much cheaper than cabs. I wish there weren’t accidents or buffoons, but I don’t think we should throw out, or in this case, burn down, the baby with…
“I’m getting my ass beat! Have you seen this? Have you heard about this?”
Why is it that the people most in love with screaming about their rights are the first to take rights away from others when its a right they don’t like? And whats with men making abortion denial their life’s work? Seems weird. Out of all the things you could have picked you picked denying women medical care? Makes my…
It’s also worth noting that Some Good News seemed an awful lot like a ripoff of Some More News, an independent show that’s existed for years and that has actual news rather than interviews with Martha Stewart.
I’d imagine taking a free, feel-good Internet show that was maybe a one-off (or at least until the pandemic ends) and turning it into a long-term, corporate backed program on a paid-for streaming service defeats the original charm and purpose of the show.
Ehh I think part of the reason he was able to get so much goodwill was because there was no financial motivation to it. I think when its just commercialized, people won’t be uplifted in the same way but we’ll see.
You’re telling me that the Benghazi movie guy might not be the coolest dude in the room?
“During these uncertain times, we’re all in this together...until I get me some, and then you suckers are on your own.”
Get strong All Lives Matter vibes from this dude
Was there ever another outcome to this story? I watched a few of them, mostly treacle, vanilla, heart-tugging bits about blah blah blah humanity. The total cynic in me thinks it was always a bid for something like this or a hosting gig of some sort.
Lame.
“Believe women” means when a woman makes an accusation, it should be taken seriously, viewed as credible, and an unbiased, thorough investigation should be conducted. It does not mean to continue to believe women regardless of what is discovered. As you said, there are many, many, many reasons to question Tara Reade’s…
What are the many, many signs pointing to her telling the truth? Just curious.
That’s a strawman, though, because the Politico article does not make the claim that because she had financial difficulty she must be lying about being sexual assaulted. It is about the fact that she seems to have a pattern of lying for personal gain, including lying about her position while working for Joe Biden.…
False reports of sexual assault are pretty rare in the regular world, but they aren’t particularly rare in politics—there’s such an obvious incentive to falsify claims in politics that just doesn’t really exist outside of it. Pete Buttigieg was hit with a fake rape claim last year. At least one of the allegations…
I don’t know. We seem to be bending over backwards to find reasons why we should believe Tara Reade. Mostly centered on “believe women,” a concept I support. And I know that there’s a lot about how “real victims” behave and how damaging that is—so we shouldn’t factor in her character, which is that she’s a lifelong…
