This is why I advocate the Clone Wars 3D series; it pretty much remedies this by making Anakin a likable guy and (without getting into spoilers) it does a much better job of establishing the discord between himself and the Jedi. I really wish the series could have done its own interpretation of Anakin's fall because

I live in the Dallas Fort Worth area near upper middle class / lower-upper class neighborhoods and you see these eyesores everywhere, often next to some tiny and weathered houses for some extra depressing visuals.

Maul's wardrobe has been bugging me, too. Character and costume design are strong qualities of the SW universe, so it's disappointing that they've put one of the most visually iconic characters into such a goofy outfit.
