So GGs were complaining about censorship in Nintendo games, and now want Baldur’s Gate to be censored.

To be fair (for some inexplicable reason, I dunno, just for the heck of it), I do think he was referring to the feminist social movement, as opposed to the ideas of feminism itself.
This comment betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of social construction: the fact that something is socially constructed, and thus malleable, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist or isn’t real or doesn’t produce real change in the world. The concept of justice is entirely socially constructed, and yet it has powerful…
And masculinity is an antiquated concept.
It is literally impossible to prove this unless you are the creator.
There are just so many issues surrounding it that it has formed this tangled mess that requires all of them to be talked at the same time, but largely many get overlooked, just to short hand this:
How is a pose getting removed from a game in beta you getting “fucked”?
“it not a sexual pose”
Different people see different things in entertainment/art. Your way is not the right way. People who disagree with you are not fools. I think you’re being 100% internet cliche because you are unable to accept another person’s very normal viewpoint, albeit not universal, without being impolite.
Very well said!
Was it the whims of a single person if a whole debate happened before the change was made? Unless it was that single person versus the entire forums, which I doubt, it seems a bit less random.
They removed some magazines from an outhouse that featured female characters. It was not the result of a bunch of complaints, they just did it on their own.
They buckled because they agreed. It didn’t fit their creative vision for the character. They have betas so that players can help them catch mistakes. The entire point of a beta is essentially the same reasoning behind peer review in writing. It’s so that you can make changes before you release your final product.
I like how these people are demanding that the makers cater to their specific vision of the game, in the guise of protecting the creators creative vision. The developers specifically stated that they wanted to change/remove shit in the beta. And that they were looking to make an inclusive game. They removed the pose…
Self-censorship is called “making a decision.”
*sigh*
“wrong, it’s already the second case of self censorship within a short amount of time.”
Change is only bad if it happens to female characters... well, as long as it relates to the change or removal of sexual content. Change though, is fine if it’s the Mass Effect 3 story, or the change to that shotgun in that game, or Cammy’s face in Street Fighter V...
At this point I’m confident in saying that “self-censorship” is one of the more idiotic buzzwords spawned from the internet in recent days.
Before everyone looses their shit, its one change, to one character, made well before release of the game, that actually has a logical reason to it. So before the purity police get here and argue that any change is bad to the original work (which in this case doesn’t exist yet) or that this is Blizzard “caving to…
