Not correct. It turns back into the saucer shape after consuming the balloon mascot and shortly before exploding at the end. Also, its “elaborate kite form” is completely symmetric, so it’s clearly intentional.

Julian Scherle, the composer for this movie, is so incredibly unoriginal. I guess his work doesn’t technically qualify as plagiarism, but he does have a habit of getting a bit too inspired by other composers. Seeing this trailer just now only served to further prove the point.
