But what if the machine has been tampered with? It’s not exactly difficult. Mail in voting is certainly not _less_ secure than in person because the people that could tamper with your vote (may) control the pieces of both processes.

That’s why republican fiscal policy hasn’t died in the US yet. It doesn’t work, and sustained application demonstrates how and why it doesn’t work every time.
