I’m curious how many people were clutching pearls vs people who actually put thought to the question and claimed they didn’t think white privilege was a thing. The later is an actual conversation to be had. The former is just cowardice.

I don’t think the majority of soldiers are soldiers because they “have no other option”. We could say they have “few” options, and are choosing the most honorable in their eyes, sure. But “no other option” is more dramatic than true.

Optimisim has nothing to do with it. I’m just saying there is hard work to be done, and people will either do it or not. Our world would be a better place, sooner, if more people did the work.
