@madammina: WTF AYTA?
I had not read the Destructoir review before, thanks. It's dead on.
Well if metacritic says it's good it must be true, I guess. So people like you and me who thought it sucked just have to accept that we are wrong because metacritic said so, just like every designer and developer in the industry gets to receive or eat their bonuses based on metacritic, we too must think of it as the…
While we're at it: How is Totilo determining who are the 'Best' and what constitutes a 'Big' game for 2010? Shouldn't Zynga be up there? Isn't Farmville huge? Don't they put out a bazillion crap games every year? Are we talking console releases only or something? What about really bad Chinese MMO's? Aren't those…
Exactly. Publishers don't make games, they simply enable the people who do, in most cases. Some publishers, particularly the Japanese, have in house development teams with no identity outside of the corporate logo... so in those cases it's a more apt statement.
My point being that it's a shitty metric by which to justify such statements as 'The Worst Games From The Best Big Game Makers of 2010' are...
Is it just me or do' reply to' comments no longer ping who they are in response to with the new site layout? I was responding to specific commenters but I cannot see the @soandso tags in my responses. Wondering if that's just me, or everybody...
Sure it's just a personal opinion, but frankly I don't think Square got enough criticism from the gaming press for the real problems that game suffers from: poor dialogue writing, hammy voice acting, overwrought plot devices, total linearity, the fact that it's nothing more than a long dungeon crawl punctuated with…
Thanks, I read the article too. That's why I specifically said 'were they to actually exist' in my first sentence.
I don't think metacritic score averages are the best metric for these awards, were they to actually exist.
Can't say that I'm surprised to be finding myself hating the new site design. It's absolutely sluggish on my netbook, and the separately scrolling modules are not getting along with my trackpad at all. The whole page glitches whenever I try to scroll through the entire window. I'm sure it's better on a desktop, but…
Unbounded? Really?
@Johnny_Under: My sentiments exactly.
What floors me are the rumors of internal dev team strife at Square Enix because FFXIII's development hell was holding up the release of XIV, which was supposedly finished.
@Shippoyasha: That would be awesome. Nothing like a throw away cutscene to make a dramatic payoff seem cheap...
@checkminus182: Less limited than Gears, less open than fallout, and nothing like final fantasy.
Because 3D is dumb.
@sereal: Same deal with me. If I upgrade at all, it's be to another 5770, cause two of those is roughly the same price as a mac compatible 5870.
@Duuuuuuude: If you like ATI products, I've been using the 1GB 5770 on my five year old mac pro (in bootcamp) and have no problem running Dragon Age and Fallout 3 at full spec. (2 dual core 2.6ghz cpus and 5 gigs of ram- though win7 32-bit claims I only have 2 gigs). The card was only $250, compared to some of the…
