@stranger: Anybody who thinks their pile of militia equipment is going to amount to jack shit if it ever came to fighting against our own government's military is hilariously deluded.

@Alaa: Is shooting books better than burning them?

There is nothing so American as a bunch of children playing with military grade weapons...

I guess it was a banner year for boobies in videogames, wasn't it?

@MrSnuffles: Good points and I have to agree, all of these arguments are essentially minor quibbles with a great game.

Well Kotaku, since you asked, and in no particular order:

@matrixdude: The story says he did eat, 8 hours in...

There has to be some other reason for it. I think many Kotakuites have clocked at least that much time playing a game at least once or twice.

That's a hell of a way to ring in the new year on PSN. Hope to see 'em soon, so I can add them to the pantheon of old jrpgs I will buy over and over again, even if I only play them for about an hour...

@tekdemon: Did they? Did Toshiba lose money trying to sell these uspcaling chips to the manufacturers whose devices use them? Or did they actually make more money during their ownership of the plant than the perceived loss they will take selling it back to Sony at a discount?

@KaMai: @tekdemon: This relies on a pretty significant 'if' becoming a reality, and becoming a reality at the price point which neither party has confirmed.

@MrSnuffles: Good argument. Very well said, though I don't know if the Animus doesn't incidentally remove dramatic context from the game as well, thus limiting the potential for truly engaging storytelling.

@hahnchen: OK, that last response comment is pretty damn funny... I have to admit. Which is too bad, because the potential for storytelling is what drew me to Jrpgs in the first place, back when most console games had no story to speak of, and I didn't own a PC... but these days, you pretty much hit the nail on the

@hahnchen: Because, like the other forms of popular culture you so glibly associate this medium with, so many videogames touch on real world religions, real historical figures and events, and spin them into a fictitious narrative.

@Mokon: I agree from a mission design and gameplay mechanics standpoint. Hell, I'd even like it of Rockstar started flat out stealing other game's systems and implementing them into their own.

Ah Sony. Such a forward thinking company.

@Gainwin: I have a hard time thinking that the truth ever gets old.
