Okay, so I bought Amazing Spider-Man at launch and here's the deal:

I've had mine since just after they introduced stars (been here a long time, since before stars), but I have no idea what comment sparked it.

Focus-grouping is a plague on society. Constructive criticism during the process is one thing, getting focus-grouped for financial gain removes all the soul from the creative work.

But Bethesda finally put in horse combat! I bet you're excited!

You're not familiar with the slippery slope argument, eh?

Exactly. I'm making the same argument, and getting the same dumbass opposition.

Best vidya game birthday: Tecmo Super Bowl

I don't know whether the endings were good or bad. That's totally irrelevant to the argument. Like I said above, I stopped playing at the beginning of Mass Effect 2 because I was pissed they took out all the RPG elements I liked from ME1.

They should have had the courage to say no.

I did not equate artistic integrity to quality, they are mutually exclusive.

Yes, because historically all great artists, when faced with controversy, automatically listen to public opinion and change their works.

Yeah, it's going to kill the entire site. I absolutely refuse to sign up using Facebook or whatever (especially after Gawker already lost everyone's info/passwords last time).

I think Bioware is a bunch of fucking wimps for not having the courage to say, "This is how the game ends." They wrote a story, the story ended in a deliberate way, and that should have been that. A bunch of people crying they didn't like the closure shouldn't change your artistic vision.

Yeah, Diablo 3's system is starting to bug me — I have to go to the auction house (with gold coins, not real money) to buy all my items, because if I don't the gear I've been finding is absolute shit and I couldn't keep progressing on the higher difficulties.

The difference is a (relatively) level playing field that awards skill versus money. The other difference is that FTP games are largely less polished than actual releases.+

Well, for the second time in a week, I can't play Diablo 3 because the North American servers are down for maintenance. This is really getting fucking annoying. I mean, I don't care about always-online DRM at face-value, but this exact circumstance is why it sucks balls to spend $60 on a game only to have it not work

Is it just me, or are these companies about an inch away from just selling every item and cheat for online games? It used to take skill and luck, now it just takes dollars to be the best.

Well, let me amend my statement: Play any of the Halo titles, and you get a great space Sci-Fi story.

Are you smoking something? R3 was absolutely the high-water mark for the series, it blows away R1 & R2.

R3 is amazing, I couldn't stand R1 & R2.
