I'm glad that my 26 year old M5 has a manual. Good luck trying to find something quick online with that car

I still have a soft spot for the Ford GT and E39 M5

ditto

As the owner of two straight 6 cars (335xi & E34 M5), I approve of this post!

Straight Sixes for the win! I own two. Good to know. My 1990 M5 likes to billow white smoke for the first 15 minutes or so at startup. It's also a straight pipe with no cats though...

Agreed. The earlier ones were much smoother before they started boring them out and stuffing them in everything. My dad had a 2000 Nissan Maxima with the 3.0 L VQ and it was the only V6 I've ever driven that revved as smoothly as an inline six.

Yup. That was my experience.

My personal favorite used car ad cliche is " A/C blows ice-cold".

Happened to me too on my WRX as well. Sounds godawful, doesn't it?

yup. A nice lightly turbocharged four pot that revs fairly high (7500+) would be insane in a small, light M Car. I guess that's the 2 series now

Does sDrive mean RWD for BMW now? I own two BMWs. Surprised I don't know that

Excellent article. My son is 10 and quite mature for his age but these are some great tips.

Plus you need time for your front and rear windows to defrost a bit. I always let my car warm up for about 2-3 mins and keep my RPMs low until the oil has warmed a bit.

Yeah, that's when it's def

Awesome post! As some of you might know, I became the proud owner of an E34 M5 this year that's in amazing shape. New S38 engine with only 80k Kms on it, refurbished suspension, all weak points addressed (crank hub, timing chain tensioner, SLS suspension, saggy headliner, etc.). I documented the whole process via

Spoken like someone who's never had to get into a car in -30 degree weather.

Is he cherry-picking random nonsense from Wikipedia to support his strawman argument? Yes!

Yup. If he can make the weight comfortably and perform the way he does, he's a LHW. No one complains about smaller guys at a given weight class who are faster than their larger counterparts.

Yup. There's lots of tall fighters with long reach who can't use their physical advantages the way Jones can at all. Such as 6'11" Struve...

yeah I was thinking the same thing the other day. Wonder how/if that might affect his preparations
