I doubt they went in with the idea to decrease the power of the V6. More than likely they lost the 5hp due to trying to get better fuel economy or cut down on the emissions, the decrease in power is just a side effect of something else they did. At least that is my guess as there is no reason to waste time re tuning…

I just can't see them being able to demand more for a Toyota than a BMW counterpart. Not to mention costing more than the upcoming Lexus RCF which will probably be in the $62,000 range. Unless they do something crazy like using a bunch of CF or hybrid stuff.
