Does the extra weight of the kit accelerate the deterioration of the drivetrain? Truly unfortunate it couldn’t give you at least a couple more years at that age and mileage... to help with resell if nothing else.

Re: two Subaru guy, I just don’t see how people make such a big financial decision and then yearn for something different in a year or two.
The 0-60 pissing contest has helped to kill manuals. I don’t care if I’m marginally faster to 60. If I did, I’d get an EV. I want to have fun and enjoy one of the few mechanical experiences that are left.
My man here comes from a place of wisdom.
People trying to make their investments outpace their interest on debts are more at the mercy of the market/economy than even those paycheck to paycheck.
I’ve watched some the dumbest vehicles with any pretenses of “outdoorsy” or offroad go for stupid money and I have no doubt this will do the same. NP
I agree that betting on the market with 20-year timeframes in mind is largely predictable. I also agree with time in the market vs. timing the market and all that jargon.
While I agree with this sentiment in general if you would’ve told someone this a year ago at this time they would have experienced gains for half a year and then held a big L in March likely leaving them net negative for the short term.
The engines are phenomenal. Some of the best in the business right now. If you don’t want turbochargers then I don’t know what to tell you about automotive progression over the last 20 years.
As with any SaaS, $25 is just testing the water for what will become double that in no time. Look at YouTube TV pricing for a proven model of doubling this price in two years.
I get luxury cars are directed, and priced, toward leases, but leases are designed to cover the harshest point of depreciation and anything that negatively affects that resale will drive up depreciation and the cost of that lease. We often joke on here about depreciation of luxury brands, but if that number really…
This car is going to suffer even more from the optics than the 3.0. Everyone would have an opinion on how you spent your money. As long as you can brush off criticism, I actually think this makes a good value proposition (as far as new cars are concerned). Maybe hold for the Z, but if you want this level of…
Exactly. Second is a bit too long and the clutch is so light it’s definitely not going to tickle that nostalgia itch, but even the damn auto rev match has grown on me in my 340i. I think it would fit what they were going for with the Supra perfectly; a cushy, easy experience that infuses a bit more sportiness and…
Probably NP for the right buyer, but I am so far removed from being that buyer that I couldn’t bring myself to give it the benefit of the doubt.
Ah, I see someone already beat me to explaining to you why protesters and rioters are immune.
“This car is just too much compared to the other examples that don’t exist that I couldn’t buy anyway.”
Let’s not pretend this only depreciated 20%. They should’ve just drove it and enjoyed it.
I guess Toyota has made a better business plan out of the reliability reputation vs. people wanting a power train engineered in the last 15 years.
Yikes. Did you just take a negative stereotype and make a blanket statement about the entire continent of Africa?
Frankly, not getting approved for most auto loans these days is the biggest leg up one can receive. I’m sure you’ll agree and bring “predatory loan” into play when it fits your confirmation bias.
