Because no one bats an eye at a 70K diesel truck, but a 10 year old mercedes is “look at that rich asshole”.
It sucks to lose good racing stock, but it’s better that they die doing what they were meant to do rather than being stored in a rich prick’s garage (the car, of course, not the drivers...)
So much this. Everyone always marvels at “who is buying all these expensive trucks?” I’ll tell you who, the guy who owns the contracting company. Or I should say, his company owns it, and he wanted the nicest one they have. It’s expensed as a fleet vehicle.
Compared to normal cars, no. Compared to other trucks, yes.
Bob the builder probably writes everything off and is in the 85th or higher percentile of income and is doing just fine.
Sarcastic comment referring to a lazy, ridiculous article posted weeks earlier? Those are the best types of sarcastic comments.
Yes.
Which is why I should probably figure out what’s going on here, because MY REPUTATION IS ON THE LINE. :D
Somehow I can’t help but feel the only people who lose here are the teens who would have benefitted from the funding that would have been provided.
Jamie got pregnant at 16. Officially, the father is the guy she was on-and-off dating at the time, who was two years older than her. There have been rumors that that was a cover-up and it was actually by a producer on the show instead, but no real evidence. The kid looks a lot more like the ex-boyfriend than the…
I’m starting to wonder if optimizing all of our supply chains around China is no longer as good of an idea as before. They’re autocratic and have complete control over industries, not to mention there’s the whole Taiwan thing which could be hugely problematic for multiple industries just based on what TSMC produces by…
They should take her money. Money is good. Money helps them help more people, no? What is this supposedly serious charity organization doing making decisions based on unconfirmed gossip?!
Most days I am reminded how lucky I am that I got into a new vehicle when I did (December ‘20).
I say this as someone who likes driving fast, who owns fast cars, and who is generally skeptical of adding more bureaucracy to our lives:
WTF people! I’m not blaming Tesla - any car can be driven irresponsibly. But doing 116 in a 30mph zone? I hope the driver is never allowed behind a steering wheel again.
Bring F1 to Belle Isle get some real bumps.
Lets assume he’s a drug dealer and the $22k was drug money. What would it have hurt to wait for the supervisor to show up? Even if the supervisor arriving didn’t improve the situation, the can still remove the man from the car a lot more gently than that. Seriously, physical violence against a person simply because…
You don’t get it do you? People have the right to be treated with dignity, especially when confronted by government representatives. Police should be held to a much higher standard than thugs, which is what these “officers” appeared to be.
Here’s the thing, handicapped people can also be drug dealers. Does that mean this man deserved to be treated this way? Absolutely not. But I think the story is deeper than just a handicapped man with an Audi A7, driving away from a drug house, claiming that 22k cash is his life savings.
