The post-launch support and communication from the devs for this game is on point. Despite my horrible horrible luck with the gacha, I really enjoy playing in short bursts.

What if they take a very ambitious Godfather Pt.2 approach and make it a prequel/sequel. John and Jack Marston. COULD IT BE DONE?
The sound design is on point. The ME games have always had amazing sound, but everything packs more of a punch in this game. Can’t wait.
It’s 20/month for unlimited gameplay, or is it a 20$ on top of actually paying for certain games?
I know a lot of people will cry heresy at me, but another alternative is to skip ME: 1 (hear me out), get ME2 and the prequel interactive comic. This catches you up on the story of ME1 and let’s you make the critical decisions that will carry over into the story. Then play ME3.
I’m also an old-school fan but I, like you, am caught in the crossfire. I love the resurgence of the franchise, but miss some of the old games.
Heather, this is exactly what I had hoped would happen after FE:H launched. Glad you enjoyed Awakening!
The canon vs non-canon talk aside, I think this is a cool cinematic and if it improves the gameplay of the original in any way, I think the game could be great!
I’ll likely get it down the line as I LOVED the first one but I’m as enthusiastic about it as I thought I could be.
First of all, congratulations Jason! So stoked to finally hear about it after ages of teasing on Split screen.
Art looks cool. Square Enix is doing well lately. This is on my radar.
I was waiting for this as soon as the game dropped. Thanks Patricia!
Kirk this was such a phenomenal read. Thanks for posting!
I don’t comment very often anymore, I lurk. But this review was so good. I don’t have a console, don’t plan on getting one - so I wasn’t reading to find out whether to buy the game. I just enjoyed reading this review so much!
I want this game so bad. I am really excited, I love how big the world is and how I can just so easily lose myself in it. The only problem is that I don’t have a current-gen console (PC Gamer here), and I can’t possibily shell out for a new system just for this one game. I know that eventually I will have to once…
Hahha, you’re right though, since From Software makes great products usually, the silence isn’t nearly as irksome as a company that puts out crap and runs, or takes your money and runs.
I’d argue Niantic owes a bigger responsibility to speak because of the millions playing their game. (side note: they said something today - hooray!) Kickstarter and crowdfunding in general has always, albeit unfortunately, been a place where you were giving money to a place that has no guarantee of ever seeing the…
Honestly I was so amped for this game when I funded the Kickstarter. Like - I couldn’t wait. But until you wrote this article I completely forgot it existed...again. It really is just sad at this point.
I was totally on board with two versions of the game, I understood Birthright and Conquest and I was fine with being able to buy both. I love Fire Emblem and two different games I have no issue with it.
Still ridiculously confused on the whole versions thing. At first I was totally clear on it. I buy both versions in order to get both stories. They are essentially two separate games and since I love my Fire Emblem, i would have no issue shelling out cash to buy both games.(well I have an issue with it but I am not…
