The flip side of that argument is that if the only real star left can’t use his appearance in the “biggest UFC ever” as leverage, there is no such thing as leverage. Conor could not have picked a better time to test his power.

The exact numbers weren’t crucial to my argument which was a much broader point than UFC, plus it’s private so no numbers are guaranteed accurate anway.

Yep. Already disliked him; this makes me loathe him. Just couldn’t resist making the tight little ass comment when discussing a woman, eh? Nice. Hope he fights again, and hope he gets exactly what he got last time. And then I hope a reporter with a tight little ass comes into the ring and gives him a tight little kick

I once heard it phrased,

What would you suggest to remedy McGregors assertion that one small contractual obligation prevents him from fulfilling his greater contractual obligation, which is reporting to the octagon on fight night the absolute best fighter than he can be? He claims he offered to defer PR obligations and the UFC refused. Should

It’s not 8 hours, 5 days a week, but the training for months can be insane compared to an office worker, tradesman, or even a physical laborer

Nah. Sexism aside, I think his post was on point. I can’t stand him because of the racism, xenophobia, and more that he spits ad nauseam, BUT he is right here. His job is to come to the octagon the absolute best fighter that he can be on fight night. These numerous PR obligations obviously interfere with that. Isn’t

Three fights a year comprises at least 9 months of rigorous work in the gym. Add in all the promo appearances and that's it, UFC is their life. They're only break is the week or two of recovery following a fight. Which in most cases, isn't a very enjoyable break.

Your a boot licking yes man aren’t you.

The only reason half the poeple watched their last fight was Conor. The casual fan doesn’t tune in to see some people fight they’ve never heard of before.

Edit: Conor is smart and good at PR

As someone who sees Dana White as nothing more than a real sport Vince McMahan, I am glad to see a guy like Conor McGregor standing up to him. I have said it before I will say it again, White and UFC are not MMA. And the sooner he learns that, the better MMA will be for it.

What we learned from the deadspin comments section today:
- former plumber’s apprentice-turned face pounding super star did not go to college for gender studies
- some people think Conor is overrated because he lost recently
- many Deadspin commenters feel deep religious devotion towards legal contracts

Great Kinja, gang

If you had an independent contractor who said “i can’t work on your apartment/house this week, because I had something personal come up” would you be upset and call off everything? No, you wouldn’t.

Conor is the UFC’s hottest property right now. His absence from one promotion will not make or break the UFC 200 sales.
