'Sup, Pyrrhic victory.
'Sup, Pyrrhic victory.
The last two episodes or so have genuinely made me start to hate Jack. He's pulling Will's strings almost as much as Hannibal is.
The next season would gave been finishing off the whole Will/Hannibal arc, covering something briefly mentioned in the books that according to Fuller hadn't been explored before.
My father and I had a bonding moment after reading Hannibal over how terrible was and how it stomped all over Clarice Starling's character. That book was awful.
That…did not even occur to me, now I'm gonna have to rewatch the episode.
Why would he be annoyed? He was contacted by the person Will is hunting. He now has access to a way to keep Will coming back to him and to try to manipulate Will back to where he wants him, and a way to sew chaos to see what happens.
And this is why I'm so upset at the series being cancelled NOW. I wanted that fourth season with them.
This it's why I really wish they had one more season - Fuller said it would have been based on a random, throwaway paragraph in one book hunting at another Will-Hannibal interaction that hasn't been explored.
Especially with her now filing Chilton's role.
He took off the person suit.
But then, there was also his OTHER promise to Alana, which is why I wonder if he wasn't genuinely trying to keep Will from losing it again.
I literally went, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!" at the screen when that happened. I knew it was coming, but STILL.
And just like that, buying the BR goes from "order off Amazon when it comes out" to "pre-order on Amazon as soon as it's available."
They are - that first murder in the show is supposed to be one of Dolarhyde's. Fuller said so in the director VO on the season one DVD.
Same. I actually screamed, "NO!!" right at the screen. I think this was the first episode where I actually covered my eyes.
I think she knew the man wasn't leaving their alive, and if she called for help, she was as dead as he was going to be. She was sparing both him and herself things going on.
Another fun fact - "nakama" really just means "friend" or "comrade" (it's not as deep as they made it sound), but can also mean "same species" (as in, of animal). So Chiyo's question also can be loosely seen as her asking if they are the same type. And, uh…getting that feeling, yeah.
Yeah, it was in the books and the other movies, which didn't get made into remakes. I'm glad I decided to stick with the first movie (I saw The Ring and Ringu) and the rest just didn't exist. Even the original book tries to explain too much how Sadako kills via VHS tape, and seriously, someone needs to explain to…
I was showing the first episode of my ESL students (he likes mysteries and wants to improve his listening) and after one episode he thought Will was interesting and a little off/strange. They set him up early.
A character who happens to be Japanese. Uhh…
