@BerkeleyRubak: I've heard this from sailor friends of mine as well. They can get an app with geo-location, GPS, etc that costs hundreds and hundreds of dollars less than much of the equipment boats use for the same purposes.

@David Michaelangelo Silva: Probably because the other new features are great. The camera and video are unreal, the clarity is unreal, and I dig the design. I admit I was disappointed as I was looking forward to this "new antenna design" but I mostly email and txt anyway so the phone issue is not a priority for me.

@JEmlayUSA: Who uses their iPhone to make calls anyway? Anyone?

So...for the pre-ordered people...do you think the lines would be much better later in the day? There's a limited number per store (for example I found out from a "genius" that there were 1645 "pre-orderd" phones at our local store). I would think that with so many lined up early the reserved line would be tiny by the

@EBone: Oh man...this is the ONLY app I want to be able to multi-task.

10 minutes. I dl'd the direct link you had posted earlier...

@MacPro66: I'm not seeing the multi tasking working. For example, I have the xm/sirius app and switching to email turns off the sound. Same with Pandora. Anyone else?

Has anyone seen this update yet? I still see a "coming soon" on the Apple iOS page and nothing via iTunes.

@willyboy: Love it. Can't wait for the multi-tasking to start working.

Very surprising that all the intelligent minds at Apple don't know how to shut down all wifi users during his demo.

I'll finish reading this later. OHHH SNAP!

@cesarcantua: Dude, confirm your facts before ranting. Wi-fi is on all of the ipads standard.

Yes but will it play Crysis? Oh wait, sorry...force of habit.

@Micho: The wealthy, child actors turned partiers, people who don't go to work until noon....etc

Buried in the article is the advice I've heard for many years on working long hours in front of a computer..

Whoa...big resource hog. Slowed my whole system down and chewed a consistent 30% of my CPU.

@tx34: Same here. I can "wave" with the one person who invited me. Sure would like to do this with my team at work or other large groups.

Since this has morphed to an alarm clock discussion...I have a Chumby that allows me to wake up to my favorite Pandora station. Nice low volume music that gradually gets a bit louder. Works great.

@dollen: I'm right there with you.
