Easy to make at home. 2 oz rye, 1/2 oz maple syrup, and a dash of cinnamon-spice bitters. Add ice, stir, & enjoy. I recommend Grade B syrup if you can get it, much more maple flavor.
Hm, I've always seen it specified as rye. Rye used to be the more popular whiskey in the Northeast, and Bourbon was not that prevalent outside the south, so lots of the old cocktail recipes were originally made with rye.
