I do think stubhub is useful, in that they guarantee the tickets are good, you don't need to meet in person, etc. But since they get a %age of each sale, they actually have an incentive to allow insane scalping.

OK, but regardless of the reasons, my point is this is indeed a unique case, in that those who do wish to avoid animal products don't really have an alternative (unlike other common, everyday products).

I think it's more about consciously avoiding things w/animal products in them… Obviously there's degrees of how far you can go; a lot of people will probably just read the ingredients in their food, avoid leather, etc.., and if they find out that a product has animal fat, simply stop buying it and switch to something…
