You’re not wrong. The problems with the story are all related to character. Such as how the town goes from wanting to kill the main dude and then letting him be the sheriff in a span of hours. The decisions the characters make are in service only to the plot and not themselves.

Though, I have to disagree about LOST.…

That sounds like the thinking of someone who has no idea how scripts/stories are constructed. Sticking to a rigid, planned outline can be just as (if not more) disastrous than discovery writing.

Well if he WAS there during season 2, he’s responsible for it being as shitty as it was. Still this is better than a lot of other TV out there that isn’t dome-related.

Actually, I think it’s more that the people see whatever they need to see to allow the Doctor to do what he has to do. He is often surprised by what the marks read on his paper.
