I was promised a chart, and I demand a chart, one really dumb and colorful and with easy to understand graphics, even if that means the variation spread between extremes is ultimately misleading! I don’t care that this person put in a lot of effort and has shown all their work and even included multiple tests...

Let’s count the reasons why this is a bad take:

That argument would hold a lot more weight if he wasn’t a documented workaholic who started his own rocket company. I’m willing to bet if you gave 1,000,000 people the wealth Elon had from his family none of them would achieve what he has. He may type some stupid shit on the internet but he has focus (likely from

Most cars are capable. Most DC Fast chargers are capable as well. I live in the northeast so our charging network is actually very good. Right now EV’s are best for people living in single family homes with exterior outlets. Thats 80 million homes in the US. Even more so if they are a multi-car household. Add duplexes

I put a rearview mirror camera in my jeep and now hate using regular mirrors, you get a clear unobstructed video, at night you can see so much better behind, and being right at the back of the car I can see exactly when I clear the car in the lane next to me

I still don’t understand why they killed the Volt. And now we’ve got the Rav4 Prime which is basically Toyota saying “Hey, you know.. GM had something there with the Volt!.”

Tesla insurance costs similar to their competition, which is BMW, Mercedes and the rest. Insurance cost is largely a factor of purchase cost.

Difficulty to repair also makes Tesla insurance premiums exorbitant,

honestly I don’t think the repairability is going to be an issue, if you even have a minor fender bender in a modern car there are so many sensors to replace that the car gets written off as totaled 9 times out of 10. I guess the big thing is going to be if you have a new car have good insurance.

Tesla has the number 1 and number 3 most American built cars. If the intent is to get EVs on the road and support American jobs then there is no reason to limit their rebate.

Bingo. If it was about good paying jobs, then tie it to pay, not just Unions. And make it a reasonable number. Ford isn’t paying their workers $4500 more PER CAR than Toyota.

I am a fan of unions in general. However, I am not a fan of the extra credit for a union-built vehicle. It should be $12.5 for any EV with defined capabilities (min range, etc.). There also shouldn’t be any income cap on who qualifies. If the goal is to get EVs on the road to mitigate a climate crisis, do that.

I was more surprised by the 40% aware of Toyota’s non-existing BEV.

New car prices are up 12% over the year. That’s an *average* of $4,872. What that means is that cars that aren’t in demand are seeing little to no increases, where cars in high demand are seeing much higher increases.

I agree about the Supra, disagree about the Integra.

no. I am disappointed that the new Integra is visually indistinguishable from the Civic it is based on.

the old Integra looked dramatically different vs it’s contemporary Civic. even the basic shape of the greenhouse and all bodywork was different. lower, sleeker, more wedge shaped.

I don’t have any problem with the Supra. At least it is a sports car. My problem with the Integra is that it could be any other car that Acura (or any other manufacturer) makes. Sure, a manual transmission and bright colors are getting increasingly rare, but otherwise you could get everything the Integra will offer

My thoughts exactly. This doesn’t look like a new Integra, but just the second gen ILX.
