Little to not at all. Most people don’t pay that much attention.

Will never happen. Automakers wouldnt be able to sell a single car. It will alway be occupants first, other people second.

would be to restrict the ODD to areas where the system is known to work better (highways, etc)

As a lifelong MINI enthusiast, the quirk doesn’t make up for the range. The value just isn’t there, unless you have a second car. There may be a niche city dweller who this will work for but as a niche car to begin with, its destined for failure.

I made a BMW i3 work for a year until I got stuck in the dead of winter.

People like to discount the slippery slope argument, just because it’s one of those arguments that has a name. But when we’re talking about the U.S. government, the slippery slope argument has proven valid every time. First they come for the billionaires. Then the 9 figure net worth individuals. Then the 8 figure

I don’t think Musk cares one bit about the money. The issue is that the proposal would require him to either borrow against his shares or liquidate his shares. His increase in wealth comes from the increase in share price of his companies, which is fairly ephemeral when he has no intention of actually selling the

Paying tax on money you haven’t received is a horrible idea and if you think they wont use this as an excuse to raid the middle class you are clueless.

I dunno man, with all those capital letters and exclamation points, how could Gordon possibly be incorrect?

I hope this is a joke. You can’t be bothered to look up actual test results?

This also isn’t the first time this kind of data has been totally misleading or even downright false. A Tesla Model 3 gets about 4 miles per kWh on the highway. Superchargers, the most expensive way to recharge a Tesla, cost about $0.26 per kWh. So driving 100 miles would cost $6.50. At current gas prices of $3.40 per

No company is going to pay to upgrade employee homes with Level 2 charging? I disagree. The minute that a company calculates that putting in a Level 2 charger at an employee’s home is cheaper than maintaining a large centralized charging facility or that they gain working time by employees going directly to their

Tesla does have mechanical releases on the Model S doors. I believe on the Model S in this fire you simply pull harder on the interior handle and it activates a mechanical latch. The rear seats in the Model S have a mech release on the front of the rear seat.

It’s a reasonable thing to suspect, given that the vehicle had apparently been found without a driver behind the wheel”

I think for one that the Autopilot would unlikely AND accelerate to 67 mph on city roads AND manage to crash itself like we immediately could see from the photos released on the day of the crash.

Occam’s Razor. Do we think Autopilot would do such a strange thing or might it be a typical stupid driver doing something

Certainly there’s no reputation of these sorts of single car accidents in non-EV performance vehicles like Mustangs.

So Jalponik, in more than one article (you only linked one) blamed Autopilot, even though several commenters (myself included) proved it wouldn’t be possible simply because of the rate of acceleration that had to happen and where it happened.

Months later, what we already knew is proven.  Now you decide to lean towards

Not that I disagree with either of those takes (from her tweets) but I’m not sure I want an elected official tweeting things like that.

Sure would be nice if you’d included some information about this (most likely boring AF) road trip, such as when it happened & how long it took. Instead, it takes clicking on the photo credit links to find out the details.

Yes you are.  They continue to dominate the EV sector and every other auto manufacture has yet to come close.

Early? Nissan beat BMW to the market by 3 years and the Leaf has sold quite well. I think the Leaf is still the second best selling EV after the Model 3. The i3 is too damn expensive for what it is, even in Europe where people have to contend with high fuel costs and heavy taxation.
