I didn’t look at 2023 because the numbers aren’t fully in yet, but the Prius isn’t doing any better in 2023. So far they sold only 25,654 units as of end of September. Not true, it’s possible to extinguish them in minutes using just water (as linked by others). But the dry chemical extinguishers in most portable extinguishers are largely useless against them (although it may help with the fire driven by other flammable materials in the vehicle).
