Anyone spot a certain blue car in the background near the end of the video? ;)

I think anyone can come to a logical conclusion that the 30mpg was probably a typo. Consider the X-Prize requires at least 100mpg to qualify, so it wouldn't make sense if it was just 30mpg.

Something to keep in mind is that for many people in China besides from these kind of jobs there aren't many other alternatives (a nation of more than a billion people will do that to a country). If you are lucky, then you might land a job in a factory with better working conditions. This is what happens when there is

People keep forgetting to point out the total (wells-to-wheels) Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions expressed as equivalent grams of CO2 per mile: no more than 200 g/mi. Criteria emissions: no worse than US EPA Tier II, bin 5 standards. A simple 1.5l diesel probably won't be able to meet that. A hybrid can probably easily

I've surprised so many here are still asking them to "prove" that they can produce a car. They have more than 20 prototypes and 1 production model so I think they have proved that they CAN build a car. I don't think it's right to associate them with a lot of other EV or even small supercar companies who have either

What the hell; you have people here complaining about the Tesla roadster's $100k price and that also has all carbon fiber body panels and it's been crash tested. This is $600k, sure it is 800hp, but you can get that in a $240k SSC Aero; 1000hp henessey viper for $188k. What else do you get, some kind of bright screen?

Eh, looks okay to me overall. I think these kind of designs will become quite common as carmakers try to make the most of automobile aerodynamics. Just see the prius, civic, clarity, and original hywire. Even the gallardo has a similar kind of slope.

Toyota's slipping these few years. Used to be you can buy a toyota without worrying about reliability. Not true anymore as they got plenty of recalls lately. Honda seems to be better than toyota nowadays.

Why make all the effort for "green" cars then? Screw the hybrids, screw the Volt, and screw the Hywire, as they amount to nothing, since global warming doesn't matter anyways. Just keep making those E85 cars to reduce our dependence on foreign oil; that's working isn't it? But that's not what the marketing department
