If Wolfram’s ideas can logically connect GR with the standard model as a full solution, not just some perturbative nonsense, then they will bear fruit. Period.

Wolfram’s ideas either have merit, or they don’t. I read a lot about sociology in this article, but nothing about his ideas. The sociology of physics is an important topic, but it has no bearing on Wolfram’s ideas.

I don’t know how militarily effective it is, but the Su-34 is one beautiful aircraft. Sleek and sexy.

I read the articles, which show clearly the unequivocal long term trends in temperature, which map exactly to the industrial revolution. I also read the articles that attempt to model the effects and timing and dangers, which are, of course, fuzzier. Predicting the weather is difficult; predicting the climate is

Who should I listen to? You, or science? Hmmm. Tough decision.

Jalopnik should hire you to write articles for Foxtrot Alpha. Your post is far better than the original article.

He even admits it, albeit unintelligibly, in his interview: he is way out of his depth in this position. He has no clue what he is doing. He is lost. And, by extension, so are we.

Everybody needs to calm down. If NK develops ICBMs that can hit the continental US with nukes and actually hit what they aim at, it will be bad news. But we survived the Soviet Union’s ability to do exactly that. The nuclear thing is a red herring.

Just quit, guys. Really. It can be done. Lot of fun stuff you can spend that money on instead ...

Meanwhile, here’s America’s fail-safe:

Nonsense. This was a propaganda strike.

This was political theater. They did not even try to take the base out of commission. If you’d like us to defend Trump, he needs to do something worth defending. Thus far it has been romper room in the WH.

With respect, there is no diplomacy with North Korea that could possibly solve the problem. They simply will not live up to their end of the bargain.

I think you mean: that’s guaranteed not to be possible. :)

One big wave ......

I’m a software engineer so I can say this. Does anyone really trust the computer to land the plane?

Never thought I’d see steel cajones in a literal sense.

Everyone seems to be missing the most important point: we need Russia to repair this floating garbage scow because it is so much fun to make fun of. One of the few areas where the Russians truly suck wind.

I’m pretty confident Russian engineers can match what we come up with, so long as their economy keeps them funded. This is a worrying development, but honestly I’m more concerned with proliferation of ABMs giving people ideas about preemptive first strikes ...

Agreed. Everything about the last election and the current administration is wrong. That people still worship the Great Pumpkin speaks volumes about the state of the American intellect.
