Almost any car can be made to drift like that on a closed course, with Ken Block, quick video edits and a good handbrake. Watch an old rallying video of the original Minis sliding around.

A friend of mine bought two about 20+ years ago, and one is a lightweight. Don't think he'll ever sell them though. The lightweight is now a bit of a garage queen, but he refers to the other as his "daily driver". He was no speculator either, just loved the cars.

Let's just start that the title of this article is pretty sensationalistic, more worthy of the evening news than an enthusiasts site. Maybe its silly of me, but I expect a little more from the editorial staff at Jalopnik. Something like "Marshall killed in a track day accident" is a little less leading. I wasn't

The world cries softly as another pseudo Camry dies.

I live in CT, the government has to be the most oppressive taxing nanny state in the nation. Too many insurance companies here for any fun to happen.

No chance that thing is as good as my KTM Adventure off-road, certainly not when you need any ground clearance and suspension travel.

As much as I love the Dakar, the organizers will continue to throw obstacles in his way as he isn't one of the precious factory teams that they love so much. A friend who raced it on a motorcycle said that some of the perks he saw the factory teams get are astounding.

The biggest sin is that he bought an automatic. Expected behavior from a valet as sad as that is.

Ah yes, the sublime combination of understeer and torque-steer.

I like your post despite your use of the word "ameliorating". ;-)

This is the new GUI? Looks like 2005.

About the only good thing my ex wife did was choose to get a Pilot. Its definitely not a minivan which drags its bits close to the ground and the thing was good in the snow, plus you could "lock" the diffs at low speed to get moving in slippery conditions. It could haul a ton of stuff and was roomy and comfortable. To

I nominate this for COTD.

James May doesn't approve.

I see what you did there Orlove, very clever. As for that Karting venue, I hope you were heading to On Track Karting in Brookfield or their other location in Wallingford. Great facility with good owners.

Bought and flipped. Don't believe all the hype, or credit the current owner with the build.

Jumping cars has its ups and downs. Sometimes you just have to roll with it.

The point is, they don't have to be. Any big 18-wheel truck or lorry can be made with a more aerodynamic shape.

Luigi Colani has been on this for years. It astounds me that trucks don't have more aerodynamic shapes. Even a .5 m.p.g. improvement per truck would save immense amounts of fuel every year. If they could get 1 or 2 m.p.g. better the impact would be huge.
